The American Society for Cell Biology MinoritiesAffairs Committee (MAC) is pleased to announce that itis accepting applications for its 5th Annual JuniorFaculty/Postdoctoral Fellows Career DevelopmentWorkshop. The workshop is scheduled for June 12-13,2010. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE MAY 14, 2010.The workshop will be held in Rosemont, IL, at theWestin O"Hare (www.westinohare.com<http://www.westinohare.com/> ). Plenary and breakout sessions will cover areas relevantfor the establishment of an academic career at researchintensive and comprehensive/teaching institutions. Session topics will include the following: ProfessionalConduct, Grantsmanship, Mentorship, Leadership,Ethics/Conflicts of Interest, Writing, Science Policy,Lab Setup and Management.The workshop is open to all postdoctoral fellows andjunior level faculty. A limited number of travelawards are available for members of underrepresentedgroups in the sciences, members of disadvantagedpopulations, and for faculty (regardless of ethnicity)at Minority Serving Institutions.
