Minority Trainee Research Forum (MTRF) at the FairmontTurnberry Isle Resort and Club in Aventura, Florida onSeptember 4 " 7, 2008. MTRF is an invitationalscientific meeting showcasing the serious traineesengaged in biomedical research. Selection is based on anational competition of abstracts form wet benchresearch. Twelve winning abstracts in each educationallevel will be selected for presentation: 12postdoctoral trainees; 12 Ph.D. trainees; 12 M.D. /Ph.D. trainees; 12 M.D. trainees; 12 college / postbactrainees; and 12 high school trainees.Each winner will receive a full travel fellowship (air,hotel, food) to MTRF, where they will give a 10 minuteoral presentation and participate in the postersession, seminars, and awards dinner. We will have anexpanded poster session daily for those trainees whowere not among the award winners. This poster sessionis open to those trainees who have their own travelfunds. Invitations are targeted towardsunderrepresented groups in the biomedical arena(African Americans, Native Americans, MexicanAmericans, Mainland Puerto Ricans, Pacific Islanders,and Hawaiians / Alaskans).The deadline for abstract submissions is July 30,2008.Contact Person:Dr. Moses WilliamsTemple University School of Medicine3420 N.
