The workshop goals are to provide participants with basic knowledge of Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) and a forum to create partnership and networks for new studies or discuss ongoing CBPR projects or ideas. Topics that we will cover include, principles of CBPR, creating, building, and sustaining a CBPR partnership, collaborative study design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination, the intersection of CBPR, policy and social change, securing and distributing funds, and building careers with CBPR. The day long seminar will be taught by community academic research partnerships from Yale University School of Medicine, University of North Carolina School of Medicine, George Washington University School of Public Health, and Drexel School of Public Health.
