Mi universidad esta buscando un catedratico asistante (tenure-track) en Biologia y Educacion Cientifica. Esta posicion es bastante unica ya que ofrecería cursos de biologia para maestros, pero desde el Departamento de Biologia/Facultad de Ciencias, no la Facultad de Educacion. Esto le permitiria al candidato ofrecer tambien cursos de biologia introductorios y de especialidad. El area de investigacion tambien es flexible, peude ser en biologia o en educacion cientifica. El programa UTeach debe comenzar a implementarse el año entrante!

Job Summary

Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities will include a biology course for primary and middle school education students, and upper level biology-related education courses that support the UTeach curriculum; and could include introductory biology courses for majors and non-majors, human anatomy and physiology, microbiology, and associated labs, and upper level courses in the area of the candidate’s expertise. The successful candidate is expected to play an active role in the preparation of biology education students, and to engage in scholarly activity.

Biology Education: Morehead State University Department of Biology and Chemistry invites applicants for a Tenure-track assistant professor position in Biology and Science Education beginning in August 2016.
Qualifications: The applicant must have a Ph.D in Biology or related life science discipline. ABD with completion by December 2016 would also be considered.

Primary responsibility is instruction in the assigned discipline or related field. Additional duties include advising students and participation in service opportunities. Engaging in scholarly activity (research, artistic activity and professional development) is expected.

Minimum Requirements
Terminal degree from an accredited institution in the individual’s discipline as recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Exceptions will be those non-doctoral degrees considered to be terminal degrees by discipline-specific accrediting bodies recognized by the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation (CORPA).
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Teaching experience in a higher education environment.

Working Conditions
Assistant Professor will teach in a typical classroom environment or an internet based environment. Travel to a Regional Campus or off-site location may be required.
