Job Summary

Morehead State University, recognized as one of the top public universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report, is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track position as Assistant Professor or Visiting Assistant Professor.

The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems in the School of Engineering and Information Systems at Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky is accepting applications for two tenure track Assistant Professors or non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professors to teach graduate and undergraduate level courses in the computer science program.

Responsibilities: Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in artificial intelligence, advanced programming, network security, data structures, operating systems, software engineering, game prototype design and implementation, data mining concepts and computer graphics. The candidate(s) are expected to deliver online education, conduct scholarly research, advise students, participate in departmental and university service; and develop engineering related courses and laboratories. Excellent teaching skills and proficiency in oral and written communication is required. The ability to publish in scholarly journals and seek funding, either for research or laboratory/curriculum development, will be expected of the successful candidate(s). The successful candidate(s) will demonstrate a strong interest in professional development, scholarship, and outreach activities at the local, national, and international levels.

Qualifications: Doctorate in computer science or closely related disciplines. ABDs with completion by December 2016 may be considered. Exceptional candidates will be considered for a tenure track position. Individuals who can show evidence of previous teaching experience are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate(s) must demonstrate background and expertise in the areas of Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation, PLC’s, and Process Control through educational and/or professional experience.

Desired Qualifications: Teaching experience in a higher education, industrial experience and/or professional licenses/certifications and experience in teaching courses via distance learning technology desired.
