FACULTY POSITIONS

The Department of Physics at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, announces two entry-level tenure-track positions starting on January 2014. The Department, with 24 full- time faculty members, offers B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics and has externally funded research programs in several fields. A Ph.D. program is currently under development. We request applications of candidates in: (1) High Energy Physics, with expertise in Particle Physics analysis and detector development; (2) Space Physics or Astrophysics with expertise in Radioastronomy; (3) Condensed Matter Physics, with expertise in the study of advanced materials; (4) Atmospheric Physics or Meteorology; (5) Physics for Biological Applications, with expertise in Medical Physics or Biophysics. The successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree at the time of hiring, be committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and are expected to actively pursue external funding for support of his or her research activities.
