From the Genetic Society: Dear GSA Colleagues, After 12 years of work, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act or GINA (S.358) is on the verge of passing! The House bill (H.R.493) passed 420-3 on April 25 - DNA Day! The President has stated he will sign the bill, if the Senate will get it on the floor and pass it. We need momentum, but it has been reported out of Committee. Pressure in numbers will bring it to the floor of the Senate for passage. The 108th and 109th Senates passed GINA unanimously. Help us get the current Senate to pass GINA. Please take a few moments and go to http://capwiz.com/faseb/issues/alert/?alertid=9933226 and send a letter to your Senators urging action NOW. For more information please go to http://www.ashg.org/genetics/ashg/news/012.shtml Thanks for your help. Elaine Strass Executive Director Genetics Society of America
