The Gordon Research Conferences (GRC) has limited funds available to support the participation of eligible minority students, faculty and scientists at Gordon Research Conferences.

The Carl Storm Underrepresented Minority Fellowship Program was established by the GRC Board of Trustees to honor Director Emeritus Carl Storm’s many years of service to GRC and to support his commitment to increasing diversity at the Conferences.

Please take a moment to review the following information.  Fellowship awards of $600 will be made available to support participants who meet the eligibility criteria.  Only those who meet these criteria may apply for support.

Funding applicants must be:

  • a graduate student, post doc, faculty, or research scientist
  • Hispanic or Latino, American Indian or Alaska Native, Black or African American, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander
  • U.S. Citizen or permanent resident with a "Green Card"
  • working at a U.S. institution
  • first-time attendees of a Gordon Research Conference

Applicants who meet the above criteria are encouraged to apply for funding early. Support is limited and available on a first come-first served basis.

Final eligibility for funding is contingent upon acceptance to participate in the Gordon Conference of interest by the Conference Chair. Applications for funding through this program may be submitted prior to acceptance to the Conference by the Chair.

All applications to participate in a particular Gordon Conference are reviewed and admittances are made by the individual Conference Chairs independent of this funding application. The information provided in this funding application will not be shared with the Conference Chair and will notaffect your application to participate in the Conference.
