Honeywell Aerospace in Puerto Rico is looking for top caliber students who have exhibited a superior record of achievement both within and outside the classroom, along with strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills to join the Engineering & Technology’s Electronic Systems Engineering and Applications (ESEA) over the course of the summer as an intern. Our internship program is designed to provide students who are pursuing a career in Engineering, the opportunity to work and support projects that are related to their major so they may gain a broad understanding of Aerospace's end-to-end business and the importance of customer responsiveness, meeting program milestones, and improving product quality; giving you the exposure to the work performed in Electronic Systems Engineering and Applications (ESEA). As an intern you will contribute with a group of engineers to create, develop and deploy test equipment for avionics products that may span both Space and Defense product lines. The successful candidate will join the Honeywell Electronic Systems Engineering and Applications (ESEA) organization as a Systems/Software Engineer Intern. In the role of Systems/Software Engineer, primary responsibility will be to develop product systems integration and software. This position requires an individual with background in Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering. The selected individual will participate in the full systems/software development life cycle including: requirement analysis, design, development, integration, verification and maintenance. This position requires ability to establish and maintain close professional relationships with project leadership, product engineering, test engineering, and manufacturing personnel. The individual must have excellent interpersonal skills to work in a small team atmosphere. Current primary need is to support development projects for the Glendale, Clearwater and Puerto Rico organization with possible secondary need to support other facilities.

 

The candidate should also be able to:

 

-Anticipate problems, recognize and eliminate barriers.

 

-Demonstrate ability to plan and organize complex technical

projects.
 

-Understand technology and management concepts required

for Honeywell products and processes.

 

-Position requires good people skills and the ability to work

effectively with other organizations and individuals at all

levels. A positive, can-do attitude is required. Must work

well as a member of a team. Must adapt well to a changing

environment.
 

-Read, Write and Speak in English

 

 
 
Qualifications
 
Basic Qualifications: 
 
 - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an Accredited University

 

- Anticipated graduation date of December 2016 or May 2017
 
- Due to export control regulations, this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status

Additional Qualifications: 

Hardware:

- Knowledge in Computer Architecture

- Knowledge in any of these areas are a plus:

  Microprocessors Interfacing, Electronics, Logic Circuits,

  Data Communications, FPGA

Software:

- Knowledge in C/C++, Object Oriented Design

- Knowledge in any of these areas are a plus:

   Visual Studio® and .NET®, Real Time Operating Systems, Matlab.

- Modeling and Simulation knowledge is a plus

- Windows and Linux Operating Systems

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work in a lab or production environment

- Knowledge with hardware/software integration

- Understanding of computer scripting languages

- Software versioning control software and techniques

- Willingness to travel 10% of the time.
