GeneGo is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented scientist with a biology background to participate in a cell line annotation project for our client. Primary job responsibilities will include manual annotation of cell line properties in a database using controlled vocabularies. Close communication with scientists and IT professionals from a variety of departments may be required. Experience in cell culture or cell-based assays is highly desirable. Familiarity with controlled vocabularies and biological databases like MeSH and Entrez Gene is a plus. Required skills: · M.S. or Ph.D. in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or related field · Familiarity with the use of cell lines in biological assays · Basic knowledge and understanding of systems biology · 1-3 years of relevant job experience · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · General computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new software tools The candidate must be authorized to work in the United States. The candidate must be available to start work in May 2010. Salary will depend on applicant’s skills and experience. The position will be based Cambridge, MA. Some international travel will be required.
