NINDS – At the Cutting Edge of Neuroscience
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, is seeking a scientist/physician to serve as Program Director in the Office of Minority Health and Research (OMHR). This position is located in the NINDS Extramural Program. The incumbent will serve as a Program Director within and outside the NINDS, working to build a cooperative environment with other Institutes. The incumbent will also contribute to the overall success of the cluster or team by producing work, participating in continuous team building efforts, exploiting new opportunities for neuroscience, and collaborating on operational work. Specific duties include assisting in the revision and implementation of the Institute’s strategic plan on health disparities, working with other research clusters to implement strategies to increase diversity in clinical research and/or health disparities research, and conducting educational and information workshops related to health disparities, diversity in clinical research and other relevant topics. The incumbent will also assists in the maintenance of the cooperative neuroscience program, and organizing/planning of other programs/initiatives germane to this cluster and the overall mission of the NINDS.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree in a relevant field of biomedical science. Appointee must be a U.S. citizen, and will be appointed as a GS-14 in the Federal government (salary range $98,033-$127,442). Recruitment Incentives and/or Relocation Allowance of up to 25 percent may be paid.
