The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) is seeking input on career choice from current and recent trainees in neuroscience-related fields who have ever applied for NINDS funding via a short survey. Please share this advertisement with your peers and colleagues, within your institutions and organizations, and via social media. Our success is dependent upon reaching as many people as we can from the current and recent trainee community. Eligible participants can expect an email invitation in during the first week of April.

NINDS Workforce Survey

NINDS needs information about the factors influencing career choice in the neuroscience workforce. We are particularly interested in hearing from people from underrepresented demographic groups in order to support our mission to ensure a vibrant, talented, and diverse workforce. Participation in this survey will help us develop training opportunities and programmatic support for current and future neuroscience trainees.

The survey is open to those who fit all three of the following criteria:

  1. 1.       Current PhD students or those who completed their PhDs in 2008 or later (including MD/PhDs);
  2. 2.       Who have ever applied to or been appointed to any NINDS grant or supplement; and
  3. 3.       Are citizens or permanent residents of the United States.

If you meet all three criteria above, you should receive an email with a personal link to the survey by April 7. If you do not, please visitwww.ninds.nih.gov/WorkforceSurvey to confirm your eligibility and receive an invitation link. Note that your personal link is unique to you, please do not share it with others. If you receive an invitation to more than one of your email addresses, please respond only once. The survey closes July 1, 2017.

A summary of the survey results will be shared with the community.
