The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is proud to announce its Science Policy Fellowship program is accepting applications. The program is entering its seventh year and offers recently graduated PhDs exposure to a range of activities regarding science policy and congressional and government relations.

The fellow will work closely with the ASBMB Director of Public Affairs, Benjamin Corb, in ASBMB headquarters, just outside of Washington, DC, and participate in a range of communication, policy and advocacy activities. ASBMB fellows have gone onto successful careers in federal agencies, congressional offices, and science advocacy organizations.
 
The fellow begins his/her tenure on July 1, and serves for 15-18 months.

Qualifications

The fellow will be selected on a competitive basis from applicants having:

  • A recently awarded doctorate (i.e applicant is not beyond postdoctoral stage and must have received doctorate degree within three years of application) and U.S permanent citizenship
  • A demonstrated interest in the relationship between science and public policy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to handle a variety of tasks.
