The Population Biology of Infectious Diseases REU Site is a nine-week, NSF-funded, experiential learning program at the University of Georgia to train undergraduates in scientific methods at the intersections of quantitative and experimental studies in infectious disease biology. 

We will be begin accepting applications for Summer 2017 on January 01, 2017. Check back for descriptions of available projects!

The application dates for Summer 2017 are January 01-February 20, 2017.  Please arrange to have  all application materials, including letters of recommendation, completed by February 20, as we will begin reviewing applications at that time.

Eligibility. To participate in the Population Biology of Infectious Diseases REU Site @ UGA, you must be planning to return to an undergraduate degree program in the subsequent fall. Particularly, you must not have graduated or expect to graduate in the year of the program. Additionally, you must be a US citizen or permanent resident.

Applications by students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities and / or majoring in biology, compute science, ecology, mathematics, and statistics are especially encouraged.

  • Complete the following form
  • Arrange to have two letters of recommendation emailed to infectious.disease.reu@gmail.com. The applicant’s name (your name) should be indicated in the subject line of the email.
  • Submit your most recent undergraduate transcript (unofficial copy okay) to infectious.disease.reu@gmail.com, with your name in the subject line.
