MSRI will appoint about 40 Research Professors, 200 Research Members, and 30 semester-long Post- Doctoral Fellows, in the following programs:
-Quantitative Geometry (August 15 to December 16, 2011)
-Random Spatial Processes (January 09 to May 18, 2012)
As part of our Complementary Program a very small number of positions may be made in other areas.
Research Professors:
Research professorships are intended for senior researchers who will be making key contributions to a program including the mentoring of postdoctoral fellows and who will be in residence for three or more months. Research professors can receive partial salary compensation at a pay rate of up to $5,000 per month during their dates of residency while the program is in session, as well as a travel allowance for oneround-trip from their home institution.
Deadline: Applications must be complete, including all letters of recommendation, by October 01, 2010.
Eligibility: For mathematicians who are at the tenured associate professor or subsequent stage of their career.
Research Members:
Research memberships are intended for researchers who will be making contributions to a program and who will be in residence for one or more months. Research memberships may include per diem support and/or a travel subsidy. The current per diem level is $80 per day for stays of one month or more.
Members can receive per diem support only during their dates of residency while the program is in session.

Eligibility: For mathematical scientists with PhDs.
Post-Doctoral Fellows:
Post-doctoral fellowships are intended for recent PhD’s. Some semester-long fellowships may be combined to allow fellows to participate in the full academic year program. The fellowship stipend is currently $5,000 per month, with a travel subsidy for one round-trip from your current institution, and a research travel budget of $600 for one semester. Health insurance is also provided.

Eligibility: For mathematical scientists with PhDs awarded in 20067 or later.
