Post-baccalaureate Research Education Program at The Ohio State University, DISCOVERY PREP. This NIH-funded postbac program runs for one year and is designed to prepare recent college graduates for success in graduate school. Accepted scholars are provided with: a PAID one year research experience in a laboratory with a nationally recognized research mentor in a biomedical science discipline; Graduate Record Exam (GRE) preparation assistance; individual mentoring; assistance with application preparation for PhD graduate programs; career development workshops; and opportunities to travel and network with other scientists throughout the nation. If you have individuals you feel would be interested in our program, please feel free to distribute the attached letter to your colleagues and students.

Application submission is FREE and can occur simultaneously with applications to graduate school (same/similar format). We also accept the bulk of our scholars AFTER admission decisions for most PhD graduate programs have been made (although preference is given to early applicants). Applications for the 2018-2019 Discovery PREP season (starting in June 2018) are now being accepted and will remain open until April 1, 2018 or until all positions are filled (so applicants are encouraged to apply early). Individuals who are underrepresented in biomedical sciences are especially encouraged to apply. For more information on participant eligibility and how to apply, please visit the Discovery PREP website. If you have any questions or want additional information on our program, please contact us by e-mail at Discovery.PREP@osumc.edu or call (614-292-0857).
