The Broad Summer Research Program (BSRP) offers students with a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in STEM disciplines the opportunity to conduct intensive research in a collaborative community.

BSRP participants spend the summer performing original computational or experimental-based research in labs across the Broad Institute’s research areas, from cancer to infectious disease to computational biology. In addition, the program features a rich curriculum outside the lab that emphasizes career development, personal development, and teamwork in a small cohort.

Deadline: January 11, 2021

NOTE: We are planning to hold BSRP-2021 on-site. If COVID-19 makes this impossible we will transition to remote programming (as in summer 2020). Briefly, as a remote program: 1) BSRP would require the same time commitment from students as the on-site version; 2) all program components will take place synchronously online, including students' regular meetings with their mentors. As an online program, students with significant prior computational experience will carry out independent research projects. Students with little or no previous computational experience will participate in a computational genomics capstone course in which they will work in small team projects. Selection of BSRP participants will not be influenced should we need to hold BSRP online
