Postdoctoral NIH Diversity Supplement Research
In partnership with researchers at the University of Notre Dame, Fordham University and Indiana University, the Disparities Research Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital (PI: Alegria) is seeking a post-doctoral candidate eligible to apply for a diversity supplement to an R01 funded by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD). Seguimos Avanzando is a longitudinal study examining the mechanisms by which racism and discrimination affect the mental health and wellbeing of Mexican-origin youth, using daily diaries (to capture micro-time) and multiple wave data collection (to capture macro-time). Our desired candidate will have relevant experience with mental health research, knowledge about discrimination-related stressors, experience with analyzing complex quantitative data, and interest in research with Latinx youth. This position will be based in Boston, Massachusetts (currently working remotely).
Diversity supplements are mentored research grants proposed as part of a larger study, and are subject to a competitive review by NIMHD. If selected, the candidate would work with the Disparities Research Unit investigators to prepare a supplement, including a research and training plan, for submission to NIMHD. Postdoctoral supplements are typically for two years.

Qualifications: Post-docs and those recently completing research-related graduate programs are encouraged to apply, including degrees in the social sciences or quantitative methods. Strong quantitative data skills required. Native/near native experience in Spanish is also preferred.
