The awards program recognizes outstanding science teaching at the K-12 level. Winners of the Amgen Award for Science Teaching Excellence receive a $5,000 award; in addition, their schools receive a second $5,000 award to further science-related education. It's a small way to thank teachers for their contributions to advance science education in the classroom.
