The Department of Biology ( at the University of Vermont (UVM) is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Cell Biology, to begin in the fall of 2018. The most successful candidates will have multidisciplinary expertise using imaging, genetic and biochemical approaches to study fundamental processes of cell biology. Biologists specializing on cellular processes of the nervous system are particularly encouraged to apply.  All applicants are expected to: 1) hold a Ph.D. degree in cell biology, neuroscience, biochemistry, or a related discipline; 2) have two or more years of postdoctoral experience; 3) develop a competitively funded research program; 4) teach undergraduate and graduate courses ranging from general biology to an area of the candidate’s expertise; and 5) mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate master's and doctoral students, in addition to professional contributions and service.  The UVM Biology Department is a broad, basic science department whose faculty members’ research spans a range of core disciplines including biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, neuroscience, ecology and evolution.
