From the Genetic Society: Dear GSA Colleagues, After 12 years of work, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act or GINA (S.358) is on the verge of passing! The House bill (H.R.493) passed 420-3 on April 25 - DNA Day! The President has stated he will sign the bill, if the Senate will get it on the floor and pass it.

The research program should be disease-oriented preferentially in the areas of cancer, neuroscience, diabetes, or other metabolic disorders. Applications to human genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics are highly desirable. The candidate must demonstrate a successful track record of research funding with currently active research support.

Continúan saliendo artículos en la prensa puertorriqueña sobre los monos en Lajas, sus efectos en la agricultura y la fauna local y los esfuerzos por erradicarlos. ¿Alguién conoce que especie de monos son esos, y cómo llegaron a la isla? ¿Qué pasa con ellos luego de ser capturados? Si hay zoólogos en el la página, me interesaría saber su opinión de cómos se está tramitando la captura de estos monos en PR y su paradero.
