I am a research associate at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital. I obtained a General Biology B.Sc. at the University of Puerto Rico-Humacao. While working towards that degree, I participated in research done by Dr. Ivétte Pérez-Chiesa, Dr. Raymond Tremblay and Dr. Carmen Hernández. I obtained my Ph.D. from the Department of Molecular Genetics at The Ohio State University for identifying genes involved in the establishment of Drosophila cell lines through the use of classical genetics and genomics. My current work seeks to identify mechanisms of immune dysfunction and novel regulatory pathways involved in the development and progression of disease in the liver.
