The Physical Anthropology program has evolved into the Biological Anthropology Program. The new name better captures the dynamic, theory driven science of the field today. Biological Anthropology includes a wide range of investigations, including primatology, paleoanthropology, genetics and human biology.

The Kirk A. and Dorothy P. Landon Foundation was created through a bequest from Mrs. Dorothy P. Landon whose intent, along with that of her late husband, Kirk A. Landon, was to dedicate a major portion of their estate to medical research, especially research related to cancer. Mr. R. Kirk Landon, son of Kirk A. Landon, serves as the president of the foundation.

A dos años del devastador terremoto en Haití, un 12 de enero, aún son muchos los retos que debe enfrentar el vecino país. Ante la necesidad de llevar a cabo iniciativas que faciliten su recuperación, la ciencia promete jugar un papel vital. Contrariamente a lo que muchos piensan, Haití posee instituciones de educación y recursos básicos para realizar proyectos científicos en su territorio. Aunque mucho fue devastado por el pasado terremoto, la realidad es que hay el talento para continuar y mejorar la labor de los científicos y educadores en ciencia haitianos.
