The following students form the UPR system won awards for their research presentations at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) in Seattle.

UPR-RP: Kiara Berrios (Biochemistry); Cristina María Ríos (Neuroscience); Eddie Pérez-Caraballo and Nadia Yusif (Social and Behavioral Sciences); Gabriela Fenollal and Joel Encarnación Rosado (Cancer Biology); Ivana Serrano (Cellular Biology); Bethzaida Súarez, Andrés Molina, Nelson García and Alexandra Vázquez (Chemistry); and Josean Reyes (Physical Engineering and Math).

With the Thanksgiving holidays upon us, travel is on the week's agenda for most Texas A&M University students. For Wilmarie Marrero-Ortiz '14, the itinerary includes Paris, France, and the world's biggest stage for climate change.

UPR alumni celebrated a ceremony to deliver the Ford Motor Company Fund STEM fellowships to 7 UPR students.
