Math Professor from UPR receives prestigious international award

The contributions of Luis F. Cáceres, Mathematics Professor from the Univeristy of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez, to advance the Special Mathematics Olympics of Puerto Rico (OMPR) and Latin America have made him deserving of a prestigious international award from the World Federation of National Mathematics Competitions (WFNMC).

Damaris Rodríguez-Fernández, estudiante en el programa subgraduado de Manejo de Vida Silvestre (Facultad de Ciencias Naturales, Universidad de Puerto Rico, Humacao) culminó su trabajo investigativo con dos presentaciones en conferencias profesionales. Junto a los profesores Denny Fernández y Raymond Temblay, sus mentores, compartieron sus hallazgos en el Congreso Annual de la Sociedad Ecológica de América (Baltimore, MD) y el 30mo Simposio de Flora y Fauna del Caribe (Humacao, PR).

Six students at RUM selected as University Innovation Fellows

Six students at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez (RUM) were selected as University Innovation Fellows (UIF) from Epicenter. UIF is supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Venturewell.

The students are: Jonathan Díaz Sepúlveda, Bryan Muñoz Vázquez, Emmanuel Oquendo, Angelisse Ramos Morales, Rodolfo Romañach and Jahannie Torres.
