Puerto Rican microbiologist, Dr. Lorraine Rodríguez Rivera was recognized by the International Association of Food Protection (IAFP) for her work studying the virulence of Salmonella in milk farms. Her award included paid attendance to the annual conference held in North Carolina, a plaque and being assigned a mentor in her field.
