Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
I'm currently a research assistant for the Caribbean Coastal Ocean Observing System (CariCOOS), my work there is related to studying ocean currents with the objective of helping to improve the hydrodynamic numerical models for our region - that is Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. For my masters I'm studying a peculiarly common phenomena called eddies, spirals or gyres; although, they are all over the world I am focusing my research on characterizing eddies off the southwestern coast of Puerto Rico.
