Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
My research interests fall generally around applying innovations in engineering to the field of pathology, including clinical and anatomic pathology, and particularly with an eye towards developing novel instrumentation. Current focus areas include optical techniques such as fluorescence correlation spectroscopy for immunoassay and measuring and modelling oxygen exchange during storage of platelets with the goal of improving residual function of transfused blood products.
My training is in hematopathology and have clinical duties in hematopathology and laboratories of clinical chemistry, hematology, and immunology.
