The integration of women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) careers is essential to reduce the digital divide between men and women, said today the main executive officer of the Trust for Science, Technology and Research of Puerto Rico, Lucy Crespo , during the first edition of the Women Economic Forum (WEF) focused on the Caribbean, which is being held this week on the island.

Crespo, who is an engineer and was the first woman to chair the Puerto Rico Industrial Association, highlighted that the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the development of technology, so it is important that women are part of that process.
