THE ABC NEWS MEDICAL UNIT has an opening for an ASSOCIATE PRODUCER. Responsibilities include providing research support for the medical unit and ABC’s senior health and medical editor, Dr. Richard Besser. Candidates must be able to understand medical studies and be able to read, evaluate and write lay language summaries of medical studies. In addition candidates must be able to evaluate news releases and meeting abstracts, identify which are newsworthy and write up summaries. A PhD or MPH is preferred.
