We're now accepting applications for the Human Genetics Scholars Initiative, a program to advance diversity and inclusion in the genetics and genomics workforce. The program will:
- Identify, mentor and help prepare a select group of high-potential, diverse early-career individuals for professional success
- Develop and sustain a community of researchers across generations committed to diversity and inclusion, who are willing to foster sustained attention to these issues in their research institutions and training programs
- Provide complimentary ASHG membership, funding to travel to and attend the ASHG Annual Meeting, and funds for career development
To apply for this two-year, intensive program, applicants must submit an abstract to the ASHG 2020 Annual Meeting by the June 11 deadline, as well as a NIH Biosketch, personal statement, and two letters of recommendation. The program is open to U.S. late-stage graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career researchers from underrepresented groups, as defined by NIH guidelines.
Further details and the application are available on the program website.
