Morehead State University, recognized as one of the top public universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report, invites applications for the following positions: Assistant Professor of Biology in the Department of Biology and Chemistry.  The position is a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track appointment with an anticipated starting date of August 2012. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities:  Teach upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in area of expertise, human anatomy and physiology, and general biology courses.  The successful candidate is expected to establish an active research program, involving undergraduates and graduates, employing modern research methods.   Qualifications:    Doctoral degree in Biology with emphasis in Developmental Biology or Neuroscience. Desired Qualifications:  Evidence of teaching experience and postdoctoral experience.  Assistant Professor of Biology in the Department of Biology and Chemistry.  This is a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track appointment with an anticipated starting date of August 2012.  Responsibilities:  Teach undergraduate and graduate classes in microbiology, allied health microbiology as a service course, and general biology courses.  Research expectations include the establishment of a research program involving undergraduate and graduate students utilizing modern microbiological methods. Qualifications:  Doctoral degree in Microbiology, or closely related field.  Desired Qualifications:  Teaching experience and postdoctoral experience.  Assistant Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Biology and Chemistry.  This is a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track appointment with an anticipated starting date of August 2012.  Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities:   Teach upper division chemistry courses in area of expertise, as well as chemistry course/labs for science majors, agriculture majors and allied health majors. The successful candidate is expected to establish an active undergraduate research program employing modern research methods.   Qualifications:  Doctoral degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry. Research area in Biochemistry or Environmental Chemistry.
