The NSF/NASA program called Minorities Striving and Pursuing Higher Degrees of Success in Earth System Science (MSPHD'S) Professional Development Program is open for new applicants for their new cohort 2007-08.
This program consists of three phased structure. Phase I programming is conducted during the Annual fall American Geophysical Union (AGU) meeting in San Francisco next December 2007. During Phase 2 programming, MSPHD'S students will assist a discipline-specific professional meeting aligned with their interests. Phase 3 programming is scheduled during the spring of each year in Washington DC and includes visits to the federal agencies. Also, it includes a list-serve, online community forum and web-cam discourse to sustain mentorship and a sense of community.
