Scientific American is currently accepting applications for the Summer/Fall editorial internship at Scientific American en Español (www.scientificamerican.com/espanol).

The internship includes such duties as assisting editors, reporting, proofreading, fact checking, translating articles, and proposing and writing short articles for Scientific American Español online. Interns typically leave with at least a handful of clips.  As an intern, you will actively participate in editorial meetings in which coverage of news is discussed. Interns also take significant responsibility for promoting content on social media. 

 

Qualifications:

Must have command of basics of reporting and writing and a strong interest in science and technology topics. An undergraduate degree in a science discipline is preferred but not required. 

The intern for Scientific American Español must have strong writing and communication skills in Spanish and English. The ideal applicant is versatile, detail-oriented, shows initiative and works well as a member of a close-knit team.

 

This paid position requires 3 to 5 days a week—up to 40 hours—in our New York City offices. The start date of the internship is July 18th. The internship can have a duration of 4 to 6 months.
