The University of Cincinnati Medical Scientist Training Program will be hosting its first annual Physician Scientist Interest Day for Underrepresented Students in Medicine (URiM)!
The event is free and will take place virtually on Saturday, April 9th 9:00am-12:30pm.
The overarching goals of the event are to empower URiM undergraduate students interested in medicine with information, skills, and encouragement to pursue an MD/PhD and to address the unique barriers that URiM students face, including lack of representation and mentorship.
Event sessions will include an overview of the MD/PhD career path, panel discussions by URiM MD/PhD students and faculty at University of Cincinnati, and workshops to provide participants with universally applicable skills such as CV building, finding mentors, and effective scientific writing.
We are really excited for the event and hope to reach as many interested students as possible! Thank you for your help in sharing this event!
