The department is now ranked number 3 in NIH funding. Position 1: To study the role of vasoactive agents in vascular adaptations during pregnancy and/or in fetal programming of adult hypertension. Studies include determination of cell-specific role of vasoactive agents on both endothelial and vascular smooth muscle cells using in vivo, in vitro, as well as cell culture. Position 2: To study the mechanisms involved in the regulation of receptors – studies include site directed mutagenesis, transcriptional assays, supershift and nuclear run-off assays.
