Los pepinos de mar son equinodermos que abundan en nuestras costas. Se les llaman pepinos de mar por su morfología, pero realmente son animales. En Asia son considerados delicias culinarias. En Puerto Rico se les usa, no para ensalada, sino para entender uno de los misterios más grandes, y de más vigencia biomédica en las ciencias: el proceso de regeneración.
