El doctor Timothy J. Colston, catedrático asociado del Departamento de Biología y director de la Colección de Recursos Genómicos del Recinto Universitario de Mayagüez (RUM) de la Universidad de Puerto Rico (UPR), es uno de los coautores de un artículo recién publicado en la prestigiosa revista científica Science, que arroja un nuevo análisis de la historia evolutiva de todas las serpientes y lagartos utilizando secuencias de ADN a escala genómica y datos fósiles.

El laboratorio es funcional hace un año y los estudiantes han presentado los hallazgos de sus investigaciones dentro y fuera de Puerto Rico.

(Aguadilla, P.R. – 22 de febrero de 2024) Dado a las múltiples propuestas aprobadas en el área de investigación en las ciencias de la Universidad de Puerto Rico en Aguadilla (UPRAg) se inauguró ayer el Laboratorio de Biología Molecular y Celular, gracias a los esfuerzos de diversos fondos de propuestas dirigidas por la doctora Juliana Pérez Laspiur, investigadora principal y directora de dicho espacio.

Postbaccalaureate Fellows (“Postbacs”) work under the mentorship of some of the world’s leading scientists in an environment that focuses exclusively on basic neuroscience research. MPFI consists of nine research groups in a state-of-the-art research facility in Jupiter, FL, on the same campus as Florida Atlantic University and The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology.
