Treinta y cinco estudiantes de bachillerato y nivel graduado, de varios departamentos del Recinto Universitario de Mayagüez (RUM), partieron recientemente a los internados de 10 semanas que ofrece el Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo en Ingeniería (ERDC) del Cuerpo de Ingenieros de Estados Unidos.

Así lo dio a conocer el profesor Ismael Pagán Trinidad, director del Departamento de Ingeniería Civil y Agrimensura (INCI), que ha mantenido una alianza académica e investigativa con esa entidad por los pasados 30 años.

Ahora que la crisis económica azota, es importante mirar hacia el futuro y desarrollar proyectos que contribuyan al desarrollo sostenible de Puerto Rico. Por eso, la Universidad de Puerto Rico (UPR) y la organización Mentes Puertorriqueñas en Acción (MPA) establecieron una alianza para ofrecer a los jóvenes oportunidades de impulsar e implementar proyectos de energía renovable.
