Bienvenidos a CienciaPR, una red de recursos para todos los interesados en las ciencias y en Puerto Rico.
My research have addressed different aspects of avian ecology, such as breeding and foraging behavior, nesting success, survival rates, population estimates, metapopulation dynamics, habitat use, hurricane effects, and distribution in the landscape. My goal is to contribute to the scientific knowledge of the biology of little-known tropical bird species to improve their understanding and provide information that can be used by stakeholders to promote their conservation. Since August 2008, I work as assistant professor at the University of Puerto Rico, Aguadilla campus. As part of this position I initiated a project monitoring avian populations in Guajataca State Forest, Isabela with students enrolled in the Undergraduate Research course. Moreover, since August 2016, we are also surveying the avian community in the coastal landscape of Punta Borinquen, Aguadilla.
