Bienvenidos a CienciaPR, una red de recursos para todos los interesados en las ciencias y en Puerto Rico.
Architect in Training [and scientist at heart] graduated from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico in 2009. I have worked with several Architectural firms since 2006. In 2012, I finished a Master’s Degree in Environment and Bioclimatic Architecture at the Technical University of Madrid, Spain [ETSAM].Since 2007, a quest about skin and its relation to architecture started to fascinate me. It was not until 2010 that I learned about Biomimicry and decided to do a master’s degree in Spain. During that time, I worked on my thesis, which became an extension of my interest in biological skin and how it can influence architecture through thermoregulation strategies (passive and active).
Currently a Professor/Lecturer in the School of Architecture of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. I Co-direct a first year Research and Design Studio called Biotectónica.
Looking forward to continue developing my investigation on Bioclimatic Skins and teaching the importance of Architectural Science.
