Bienvenidos a CienciaPR, una red de recursos para todos los interesados en las ciencias y en Puerto Rico.
My interests ranges from the development of the myelin sheath around axons, to what are the proteic building blocks that, through the interaction with the myelin sheath, separate the axon into their nodal and ineternodal subregions, to the different precursor cells that, when transplanted into the injured spinal cord may differentiate into myelinating glia.
After I graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, I acquired my doctoral degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
After that I worked as a research associate with Dr. Steven Scherer and Dr. M. Sean Grady Studying different aspects of nerve regeneration after injury and disease.
Now I work at Yale University in the Center for Neuroscience Research and Regeneration of the VA HealthCare System as an Associate Research Scientist.
