Ciencia Puerto Rico

As a highschool student I created a Science Club in which I was the president of, we did many activities, the school teacher that was in charge of this club chose about 5 of his best students and took them to the NOAA Boat which was docked in Puerto Rico, I was one of them, we were taken in the boat to learn about their research and all that was going on in the boat plus we saw how they lived.I have done research in the Bio Genetics field as a pre-college student, my research was centered in Optic Atrophy Type 1, which I presented in the Summer Pre-college Research Symposium. I am currently 18 years old and studying Chemistry in the Metropolitan Universities Science and Technology Department, as an Honor's Scholarship Science student. In this year's Metropolitan Universities Science Day the theme was nano technology, and some of the chemistry students that were chosen including myself, Synthesized Silver Nanoparticles as a demostration for the students that came to the activity. I was also invited to participate as a Bio Genetics judge in the Winter Pre-college symposium. This winter the current NASA administrator Charles Bolden Jr. came to the Puerto Rico Arecibo Observatory to offer a closed conference and I am really proud to say I was there and that I shook his hand. This summer I was chosen to participate as an intern in the NASA Langley Research Center in Virginia, where I will be working in a project titled Quantum Dot Lasers.
