About Me and Project Info

Sobre Mi:

I am a plant pathologist/mycologist (fungi) with some experience with bacterial and viral pathogens. I have worked mainly with fungal pathogens of tropical fruits such as mango and avocado and more recently with onion pathogens (Alternaria, Stemphylium and bacteria) and their interactions with insect pests such as thrips.

Actually I am involved in two research projects funded by USDA:

1. Characterization of Alternaria spp. occurring in onion fields and their interaction with bacterial pathogens and insects pests (Principal investigator or PI)

2. GIS-Based Spatial Analysis of Movement of Silverleaf Whitefly and Begomovirus (Co-PI). This project is in collaboaration with the University Of Florida.
