Bienvenidos a CienciaPR, una red de recursos para todos los interesados en las ciencias y en Puerto Rico.
My research is about the study of micro/nanoscopic artificial particles that have the ability to move autonomously in a fluid. These particles are called self-propelled (or active) colloidal particles, and they are of huge interest due to their potential application (e.g biomedical, lab-on-chip microfluidics, environmental) in novel emerging areas such as nanotechnology.
In order to obtain results in this research, we use theory and simulations. The theory is based in all principles that govern the stochastic dynamic and hydrodynamics of these self-propelled particles. Thes particles are numerically modeled using different simulation techniques such as Brownian dynamics simulations and Skesian dynamics simulations.
My personal interest is to develop a competitive research group to solve scientific problems in Puerto Rico or USA. I have also interest in to be part of a engineering group or build it to solve practical engineering problems in Puerto Rico or USA. Here, I want to combine fundamentals of mechanical and chemical engineering.
