I obtained a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus in 1999.
I also have a MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Hydrology) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. My graduate thesis dealt with simulating the climate of West Africa during the middle-Holocene, when the Saharan desert had a much smaller extent than present as a result of changes in the Earth's orbital parameters (Milankovitch cycles) and biosphere-atmosphere feedbacks.
I am also an artist. I paint mostly watercolors. My favorite theme is of course, my native, Puerto Rico. You can see my art at:

Información de proyecto:
Currently I work as a Senior Engineer for the South Florida Water Management District in West Palm Beach, Florida. Areas of expertise include hydrologic modeling on regional and subregional scales, hydraulics, evapotranspiration, among others. Modeling projects I have been involved with include the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan, water supply plans, and other local wetland restoration efforts.
Current areas of interest include global warming and the susceptibility of coastal areas to sea-level rise.
