The goal of the CDCB Summer Research Internship program is to engage scientific curiosity in the next generation of scientists, challenging qualified college undergraduates to consider basic science research-related careers and providing them with initial experiences required to be competitive for science-related graduate eduation programs and careers in the future.

Two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, and many have yet to learn that the way out of the global emergency is not through individualism and nationalism, but through solidarity.

More than 3 billion people around the world remain unvaccinated, in part because of vaccine hoarding by wealthy nations like the U.S. Beyond the coronavirus’ biology, the main reason COVID-19 continues to rage is such failures of solidarity – in government, public policy, messaging, and civic society.

Dr. Daniel Colón Ramos led the study that was published this month in the scientific journal "Neuron"

A study, led by Puerto Rican researcher Daniel Colón Ramos, made an important discovery in the scientific maze to better decipher Parkinson's disease.

The group, composed of 15 researchers, identified a protein that is key to autophagy, a process or natural mechanism of cellular regeneration that basically consists of the elimination of cellular waste.
