El petróleo. En el Siglo 20, acceso a esta fuente de energía económica y abundante trajo una de las eras de mayor progreso en la historia humana. A nivel mundial, la llamada energía barata impulsó un gran crecimiento económico, expandió la agricultura, y promovió el desarrollo de nuevas tecnologías; permitió que el hombre caminara en la Luna. Aceleradamente, esta “Era del Petróleo Barato” se acerca a su fin. Para este año, la Administración de Información de Energía (EIA) de los Estados Unidos estableció que se consumirá 19.52 millones de barriles de petróleo y sus derivados al día en América del Norte a partir de un suministro de producción de solo 16.32 millones de barriles.

Stem cell therapies offer the potential to treat diseases or conditions for which few treatments exist.

Stem cells, sometimes called the body’s “master cells,” are the precursor cells that develop into blood, brain, bones and all of your organs. Their promise in medical treatments is that they have the potential to repair, restore, replace and regenerate cells that could then be used to treat many medical conditions and diseases.
