The Biology & Chemistry Department at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, Biology (Environmental Biology). The anticipated start date is January 11, 2021.
Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. This location provides opportunities for a wide-range of outdoor recreation activities. RESPONSIBILITIES: We seek a highly trained environmental scientist with expertise in environmental assessment and monitoring to teach courses that may include general biology, environmental testing methods, conservation biology, advanced ecology, environmental science, and courses in candidate’s specialty. Requires ability to obtain external funding for a robust research program working with Masters of Science and Undergraduate Biology students. Our location in Daniel Boone National Forest with a nearby fish hatchery and Corp. of Engineers reservoir makes us an ideal location for a field biologist.
REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D. in Environmental Science or Biology, or related field. Must have broad undergraduate and graduate Biology training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Post-doctoral and/or environmental professional experience preferred. Teaching experience in a higher education environment.
