Hola gente, Abajo incluyo información sobre un programa de internado que les puede interesar a aquellos de ustedes que buscan carreras científicas "alternativas"... El Departamento de Salud y Servicios Humanos (HHS) de los EEUU es la sombrilla bajo la cual trabajan muchas de las agencias involucradas con apoyar la investigacion biomedica y el desarrollo de terapias y programas de salud. Este programa de internado ofrece la posibilidad de trabajar en cualquiera de las agencias de HHS (e.g. NIH, CDC, FDA, AHRQ, etc) y conseguir empleo permanente en diversos tipos de posiciones profesionales (administrativas, cientifcias, salud publica, IT, etc). Yo participe en este programa del 2006-2008 donde encontré mi posición de política pública científica en NIH. Si quieren mas información me pueden contactar. -Giovanna ********************** The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is currently accepting applications to the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP). The ELP is a competitive, two-year, paid, federal internship with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The program provides a unique opportunity to develop analytical and critical leadership skills in one of the largest federal agencies in the nation. Rotation opportunities to expand leadership competencies are available throughout the Department and across federal agencies. Highly qualified candidates will be recruited for GS-9 level positions in the following career tracks: Administrative, Social Sciences, Public Health, Human Resources, Scientific, and Information Technology. Interns will be hired by the Department and will participate in an intensive, two-year program that includes challenging assignments, fast-paced and diverse work environments, and opportunities for promotion and hire. The Emerging Leaders Program recruits well-qualified, exceptional leaders with an interest in public policy and commitment to public service. The application period for the 2009 recruitment cycle ends at midnight on January 21, 2009. Applicants will be required to submit two letters of recommendation and to elaborate on specific experiences by answering essay questions as part of the application process.
